After roasting Tom Brady, Nikki Glaser is just getting warmed up

Nikki Glaser is having a moment. She’s been doing comedy for 21 years, starting at age 18, and has had plenty of breaks before. A Comedy Central series. Specials on Netflix and HBO. She has built a fan base that knows her style of light-hearted but often pointedly blue humor.

Before May 5, she had an enviable career. Since May 5, everyone who hadn’t heard of her does now. That was the night she skewered a former New England Patriots quarterback in “The Greatest Roast of All Time: Tom Brady,” live on Netflix.

Now, it’s tough to flip through any social media platform without seeing the clips. She’s been on podcasts and talk shows, from “John Mulaney Presents: Everybody’s in LA” to the sports-themed “Rich Eisen Show.”

“There’s certain times in your career where you’re like, ‘Oh, I just like leveled up,’” she says. “And it feels like that. But it’s been awesome.”

Glaser brings her latest tour, “Alive and Unwell,” to the Cape Cod Melody Tent for a sold-out show July 12, part of a packed summer of comedy that includes John Cleese screening “Monty Python and The Holy Grail” at the Chevalier Theatre in Medford, the AAPI Comedy Festival at the Rozzie Square Theater, and the returns of Boston expats Kenice Mobley, Sam Jay, Don Gavin, Joe List, and Robert Kelly.
