Dana Gould and Bobcat Goldthwait share more than an offbeat sense of humor. They are longtime friends who bonded over their love of B-movie director Ed Wood. Both spent their formative professional years in the Boston comedy scene and have gone on to act and make movies and television shows. But before their current “The Show With Two Heads” tour, which comes to the Somerville Theatre on May 15, they have not had the chance to spend time onstage together.
“We’re good friends, and we don’t really get to hang out,” says Goldthwait. “That’s basically why we’re doing the tour.”
Gould and Goldthwait both have day jobs that have kept them busy over the past few years. Goldthwait is a writer and director and put two years of work into “Misfits & Monsters,” his comedy/horror show on truTV. Gould has been writing and acting on his own horror/comedy, “Stan Against Evil,” which was not renewed by IFC. Both are working on follow-up projects, but the break has allowed them to put together a full tour schedule that runs through June. It has also allowed them to be choosey about where they perform.
