At the end of Sunday night’s kickoff show for the seven-city “Trainwreck’’ Comedy Tour, Amy Schumer beckoned a murderers’ row of comedic talent to join her for a final bow. Colin Quinn, Mike Birbiglia, Dave Attell, and Judd Apatow returned to the Wilbur Theatre stage to a crowd already on its feet for Schumer. It’s a tribute to her still-growing stature that the comic quartet was with her because they had worked together on an upcoming movie, “Trainwreck,” that Schumer wrote and stars in, and that among them she was unquestionably the headliner.
Schumer has passed the threshold from popular comic to cultural talking point. Her Comedy Central sketch and stand-up show, “Inside Amy Schumer,” now in season three with a fourth in the works, regularly spawns viral videos that lampoon sexist double standards and body image issues. Her stand-up covers a lot of the same territory.
